OK, he didn’t exactly say that, but McCain is basically saying that there are some countries that we should never, ever deal with ever. Either that, or he’s making some hyper-nationalistic statement about how the United States can solve all the world’s problems on it’s own without anyone else’s help.
Of course, all of this is despite the fact that we actually talked to our adversaries quite a bit during the Cold War, and that talking probably made things a lot better than they would have been otherwise.
